Coach Dan Hurley led the University of Connecticut to a championship two years in a row.

University of Connecticut coach Dan Hurley, who won the National Collegiate Sports Association (NCAA) men’s basketball championship for two consecutive years, declined an offer to coach the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

According to the Associated Press on the 11th (Korean time), Coach Hurley, who led the University of Connecticut to the top of Division 1 in college basketball for two consecutive years last May, received an offer from the Lakers to lead the team, but expressed his intention to remain at the university.

“I am proud of the championship culture we have built at Connecticut, and I will remain focused on maintaining our championship status next season,” Coach Hurley said in a statement released through the university.

The University of Connecticut, led by Hurley, recorded 12 wins and no losses in the NCAA Tournament in the 2023-2024 season and won a landslide victory by an average of 21.7 points per game.
