In his first game as captain, Kim Tae-hoon was solid.
Korea University in Seoul won 88-55 against Chungbuk Kookmin University in the men’s general category of the 104th National Games Basketball 바카라사이트 at the Mokpo Multipurpose Gymnasium in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, on Saturday to advance to the semifinals.
Kim Tae-hoon, a junior at Korea University, said, “We made up for our shortcomings in the first game against Chung-Ang University and played a better game. I’m grateful to my teammates. I’m thinking about getting better every game. I always think that basic defense and rebounding are the winning factors,” he said about the game against KU.
KU prepared for the tournament without seniors Moon Jung-hyun (KT) and Park Mubin (Hyundai Mobis), who both went on to play professionally, so Kim Tae-hoon started his first official tournament as captain on the 14th against Chung-Ang University.
“As a captain, I have more responsibility and pressure, but I’m trying to overcome it,” Kim said of his mindset.
He also said, “I am thinking about winning the national championship. However, we are preparing with the mindset of preparing for next year, as we are the first members to play together in a match.” He also revealed his goals for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Korea University’s semifinal opponent is the Sangmu Basketball Team of the Jeonnam National Armed Forces Athletic Corps. Composed of former professionals, the team is challenging to win the national championship for the seventh consecutive year.
Kim Tae-hoon said, “Just like last year, we will meet our brothers in the quarterfinals. I want to play a game where I can learn from them and gain experience, not just win,” he said.
It will be interesting to see if Korea University can pull off an upset against the defending champions. The match between Korea University and Sangmu will be held at 14:20 on the 18th at the Mokpo Multipurpose Gymnasium.
