PSV Eindhoven (NED), Braga (PORT), Galatasaray (TUR), Copenhagen (DEN), Royal Antwerp (BEL) and BSC Young Boys (SWE) have all progressed through the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League (UCL) Playoffs (PO) to complete the 32-team main draw.Eindhoven defeated Rangers (Scotland) 5-1 at home in the second leg of the 2023-2024 UCL PO at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands, on May 31.After a 2-2 away draw in the first leg, Eindhoven punched their ticket to the UCL knockout stages with a 7-3 aggregate win in the first and second legs.It will be the first time in five years that Eindhoven has played in the UCL main draw since the 2018-2019 season.Notably, Eindhoven were knocked out of the UCL playoffs last season by Rangers in a 1-1 draw, and coincidentally, the teams met again in the playoffs a year later.After going down 1-2 away in the first leg, Eindhoven came out firing on all cylinders in the second leg at home, drawing 2-2 with a dramatic 35th-minute equalizer from Luke Douillon.After Ismael Saivari opened the scoring with a header in the 35th minute and a one-man show eight minutes into the second half, Eindhoven pulled a goal back 19 minutes into the second half, but Douillon struck the winning goal 21 minutes later.Eindhoven completed the 5-1 victory with a 33rd-minute goal from Joey Feirman, followed by an opponent’s own goal in the 36th minute.In the other PO showdowns, Braga defeated Panathinaikos (Greece) 3-1 on aggregate (2-1 in the first leg and 1-0 in the second leg) to join the knockout stage for the first time in 11 years, while Galatasaray topped Molde (Norway) 5-3 on aggregate (3-2 in the first leg and 2-1 in the second leg).Young Boys defeated Maccabi Haifa (Israel) 3-0 (0-0 1st leg – 3-0 2nd leg), while Antwerp earned their first UCL appearance with a 3-1 win over AEK Athens (Greece) (1-0 1st leg – 3-0 2nd leg).
