Samsung took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a triple to right-center by Koo Ja-rook and an RBI single to left-center by Kim Tae-hoon. McKinnon’s grounder to first loaded the bases. Kim made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Kim Tae-hoon.
With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the third inning, Koo threw up his arms. He took a 147km/h two-seam fastball from KT starter William Cuevas and launched it over the left field wall. The 110-meter solo home run made the score 3-1. From there, Samsung protected its two-run lead.
