San Diego Padres’ Ha-Sung Kim (29) hitting streak has come to a halt.

Kim went 0-for-4 at the plate in the fifth spot in the lineup against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series at Petco Park in San Diego, California, USA, on Wednesday.

His silence marked his third consecutive game without a hit. His season batting average dropped to 0.233 (7-for-30) from 0.269.

After leading off the second inning with a single, Kim took a 92.7 mph (149.2 km/h) sinker from starter Myles Mycholas and grounded to shortstop. In the bottom of the third, he pulled a 91.9-mph (147.9-kilometer-per-hour) body sinker, but it was a grounder to third base.

Kim was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts to get at Michaelas. In the fifth, 안전놀이터 with two on and two out and a full count of eight pitches, he lifted a low 86.6 mph (139.4 km/h) slider that sailed straight into center field.

San Diego’s second pitcher, Yuki Matsui, struggled, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks while failing to record a single out.
