There will be a Suwon in the top flight next season.
Suwon FC defeated Busan I-Park 5-2 in overtime in the second round of the 2023 K League Promotion Playoffs at Suwon Sports Complex on September 9.

With a 6-4 aggregate score in the first and second legs, Suwon succeeded in staying in the top flight.
The color of defeat was deep.

The Suwon, who had already lost the first leg 1-2, conceded a goal to Busan’s Choi Jun in the 15th minute of the first leg, bringing the overall score to 1-3.

Despite pounding the opposing defense, led by Yoon Beom-garam, there were still no goals with about 15 minutes left in the game.

They needed to score at least two goals to tie the game. Relegation was in sight.
But the strength of the first division team was different.

Suwon didn’t give up even in the worst of times.

The tide finally turned in the 33rd minute.

Kim Hyun scored a golden goal with his right foot.

With the momentum in their favor, Suwon extended the game to extra time in the 40th minute when captain Lee Young-jae scored with his left foot.
In the overtime period, Suwon pushed Busan hard.

Five minutes into the overtime, Lee Kwang-hyuk scored with a left-footed curling kick after completely fooling a defender.

The score was now 4-3.

Suwon added another goal in the 11th minute of overtime through Jung Jae-yong.

Busan kept their hopes alive with a goal from Kim Jung-hwan in the 10th minute of the second half of extra time, but Suwon’s Lopez scored the winner in the 12th minute of the second half of extra time. 먹튀검증
With Suwon FC’s success in staying in the competition, we will be able to see a team from Suwon in the K League 1 next season.

Earlier, Suwon Samsung, a traditional favorite, finished last in the league (12th) and was relegated to the second division for the first time since its inception in 1995.

With Suwon FC also in the mix for relegation, there was some speculation that both Suwon clubs would be in the second division side by side.

However, Suwon FC put those fears to rest.
Meanwhile, Gangwon FC also managed to stay in the top flight on the same day.

Gangwon defeated Gimpo FC 2-1 in the second leg of the 2023 K League Promotion Playoffs at Gangneung Sports Complex, thanks to a multi-goal performance from Gabriel.

With the win, Gangwon took a 2-1 aggregate lead after the first and second leg and secured their place in the top flight.
Gimpo, who had led an underdog revolt to challenge for promotion two years after entering the K League 2, crumbled at the threshold of the top flight.

Gimpo striker Lewis was sent off in the 23rd minute of the second half for striking an opponent with his elbow during a corner kick.
