The Texas Rangers were founded in 1961.

They were originally known as the Washington Senators. In 1972, they moved to Arlington and took on their current name.

George Bush, the 43rd president of the United States, was the owner of the team (1989-1994), and he even had to testify in a hearing to prove that baseball teams weren”t hoarding money.

The Texas Rangers, famous for having Park Chan-ho and Choo Shin-soo, have never won a World Series since their inception.

The San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, and Tampa Bay Rays have also never stood atop the World Series podium, but Texas has the longest championship drought (62 years) based on year of founding.

That’s nothing compared to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who went 75 years without a championship after winning the 1948 World Series, but at least they’ve tasted it.

Texas made it to the World Series in 2010 and 2011, but never hoisted the trophy. In 2021, they suffered a humiliating 102-loss season. However, they’ve rebounded in two years and are set to play for their first ever crown. 토토사이트

Texas’ opponent is the Arizona Diamondbacks, who also haven’t won a World Series since 2001, when Byung-hyun Kim played for them. Arizona is a relatively young franchise, founded in 1998 with Phoenix as its home base.

Both Texas and Arizona have made it to the World Series this postseason, making it through the Wild Card Game, Division Series, and Championship Series.

Dubbed the “Underdog Revolt,” their combined 2023 regular-season win total of 174 (Texas 90-72, Arizona 84-78) is the lowest ever for a World Series matchup in a 162-game season.

It’s a matchup no one saw coming.

The two teams went side-by-side in fall baseball, knocking off teams with 100+ wins on the season (Baltimore Orioles, LA Dodgers).

According to Sports Illustrated (SI), in the regular season, Texas outscored its opponents 881-716 (+165), while Arizona was outscored 746-761 (-15).

This is the largest regular-season run differential (180 points) in a World Series matchup since 1998 (195 points) when the New York Yankees (+309 run differential) faced the San Diego Padres (+114 run differential).

In terms of all-time regular season performance, Texas holds a 28-25 (.528) advantage over Arizona.

Despite being side-by-side with 100+ losses in 2021, Texas and Arizona have different World Series rosters. According to, 21 of Texas’ 26 players were acquired through free agency (nine), trades (12), or players claimed off waivers from other teams. Only five were selected through the rookie draft.

Arizona, on the other hand, has 12 players acquired through the rookie draft or international signings. Five were free agents.

If the Texans have rebuilt their team by investing aggressively, Arizona has done so through homegrown talent. Texas has invested $800 million in free agency over the past two seasons.

Texas has the best OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) in fall ball this year (12 games) at .825.

Arizona (12 games) is fifth (0.741). On the mound, Arizona leads the league with a 3.23 ERA, ahead of Texas (3.67).

The starting pitching is similar, but in the bullpen, Arizona (2.94 ERA) has a better record than Texas (3.72 ERA).

Game 1 of the World Series between the lookalike Texas and Arizona will take place at 9:05 a.m. ET on April 28 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The starting pitchers will be Nathan Eovaldi (Texas) and Zach Gallon (Arizona). Iboldi is 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA in the postseason this year, while Gallon is 2-2 with a 5.24 ERA. Former President Bush will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game 1.
