The LG Twins beat the Kiwoom Heroes to reach 60 wins for the season.
LG won 8-4 against Kiwoom in the 2023 KBO League on Wednesday at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.
Choi Won-tae, who was traded to LG from Kiwoom in late July, made his first start against his hometown team and earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts over five innings. Austin, who had been ejected the day before for furiously protesting an umpire’s strikeout call, hit a two-run homer to center field.
With the win, LG extended its winning streak to four games and became the first team to reach the 60-win mark for the season (35-2). A team that reaches 60 wins has a 75.8 percent chance of winning the regular season (25 of 33). They have a 60.6% chance of winning the Korean Series (20 out of 33).
Last-place Kiwoom, on the other hand, has lost three straight 먹튀검증 games. They have lost five straight at LG Electronics and nine straight at Jamsil Stadium.
