Swings for the fences with 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and 1.072 OPS in July
First Hanwha player to win the award since Jung Woo-ram in 2018

Hanwha Eagles’ Noh Si-hwan (23) has been named the July Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League.

With a total score of 37.24 points, Noh received four votes out of a total of 26 (15.4%) from the journalists and 269,28 (59.1%) out of 451,158 fan votes, 섯다 earning him the first monthly MVP award of his career. It is the first for a Hanwha player since Jung Woo-ram in May 2018.

Noh started off the month with a bang, hitting back-to-back home runs against the Daegu Samsung Lions on the first of the month, and followed that up with a home run against the Lotte Giants on the fifth and sixth.

Noh also homered against the Gochuk Kiwoom Heroes on the 25th and the Munhak SSG Landers on the 29th, giving him six home runs for the month, topping the category.

Noh also ranked first in slugging percentage (0.649) and posted a 0.423 on-base percentage for a 1.072 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage).

His batting average was .298 and he tied for fifth in the RBI category (14), 온라인섯다 which is typical of Hanwha’s emerging big guns.

It’s been a hot summer for Sihwan Noh, and his quest for the home run title is heating up.

Currently leading the league in home runs with 23, Noh has hit six or more home runs in every month except April. At this pace, he could become the first Hanwha player to win the home run title in 15 years since Kim Tae-gyun in 2008.

As the July MVP, Noh will receive a cash prize of 2 million won. Shinhan Bank will also donate 2 million won to his alma mater, 고스톱 Gyeongnam Middle School, in his name.
