American internet sensation, iShowSpeed, has flexed his Aussie rules skills in a surprise training session with the GWS Giants.
The YouTube streamer with more than 33 million subscribers is on a whirlwind trip to Australia which included cliff diving with Olympian Sam Fricker on Thursday.
However, he was put through his paces with a Sherrin when he headed out to Sydney Olympic Park on Friday afternoon.
With more than 50,000 people watching the stream at certain points, Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., was shown how to take a mark, kick a goal and even put some of the Giants’ fastest players to the test.
Speed most recently competed against Olympic champion Noah Lyles in a sprint where he narrowly lost out. This time it was Irishman Callum Brown and the kid with the lid, Darcy Jones, who stepped up for the challenge.
Speed’s team reached out to the Giants weeks ago to organise the opportunity, with the club’s players more than happy to come back to training early and help out.
While Brown narrowly lost out, Jones got one back for 바카라사이트 GWS with a narrow victory in their race, even though the result was contentious, to say the least.
The 19-year-old looked a natural at certain skills but was out of his depth in a one-on-one marking contest against Sam Taylor, one of the best defenders in the AFL.
The YouTuber spent the best part of an hour at the club and ended the session by taking photos with players, and fans who had gathered outside Giants HQ after finding out he was there.
The streamer rose to popularity after sharing hours of his daily life and has interacted with some of the world’s most popular figures, including his favourite athlete Cristiano Ronaldo.
