‘French legend’ Thierry Henry (47) has strongly criticized ‘junior’ Kylian Mbappe (25, Real Madrid).
Real lost 1-3 to AC Milan in the fourth leg of the UEFA Champions League phase of the 2024-2025 season at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain, on June 6 (local time).
The mood at Real was even more turbulent after a crushing 0-4 defeat in the El Clasico against Barcelona on March 27.
Mbappe’s indiscipline has been cited as a problem in both matches.
“Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has singled out Mbappe as the team’s biggest problem,” according to British outlet GiveMeSports. According to the outlet, Ancelotti has been pushing for a bigger role for Mbappe since the start of the season, but is now frustrated.
“Mbappe doesn’t try to help the team when he doesn’t have the ball,” said Spanish outlet Relevo.
Henri has also said that Mbappe’s attitude needs to improve.

Bellingham, on the other hand, tried his best to cover the defensive area, but he played so far down the pitch that after scoring 19 goals last season, he is currently without a league goal. Despite Bellingham’s sacrifices, Real’s offense hasn’t been as good as expected. Against AC Milan, it was the same story, with even Henri finally giving in and letting the ‘France international’ Mbappe have his day.
Mbappe currently has six goals and one assist in 10 games in the league. However, three of those goals have come from the penalty spot. This is far from the goalscoring form that Real expected from Mbappe.
With his lack of activity and below-par goalscoring numbers, Mbappe has become a target for criticism.
