Goyang Sono has won its third straight game to open the 2024-2025 season, led by 18 points from Lee Jung-hyun.
The Sono, coached by Kim Seung-ki, defeated Changwon LG 82-77 at home in the 2024-2025 KCC Pro Basketball Regular Season at the Sono Arena in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, on Saturday.
In a matchup between two teams that were undefeated after opening the season with three wins for LG and two for SONO, SONO 온라인카지노사이트 pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback.
Trailing 59-63 after three quarters, SONO rallied to take a 67-65 lead with just over six minutes left in the game after Lee Jae-do hit back-to-back three-pointers to start the fourth quarter.
Lee played for LG until last season before being traded to Sono in June of this year.
LG tied the game again with a basket from Asem Marey, but Sono answered with back-to-back baskets from Choi Seung-wook and Lee Jae-do to take a 71-67 lead, and a three-pointer from Jung Hee-jae to make it 74-67 with just over three minutes left in the game.
Jung Hee-jae also played for LG until last season, when he became a free agent this year and moved to SONO.
Sono, which sits alone atop the standings with three wins, was led by Lee Jung-hyun and Alan Williams with 18 points apiece, while Jung Hee-jae added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Lee Jae-do also scored 10 points in the decisive fourth quarter alone to put the brakes on the opening winning streak of the ‘friendly’ LG.
Sono also snapped LG’s recent six-game losing streak.
In Daegu, Daegu Kogas defeated Seoul Samsung 76-70.
KOGAS got a big night from its guards, including 23 points from Samjosef Belangel and 20 from Nak-hyun Kim, and Kofi Coburn’s 26 points and 11 rebounds pushed Samsung to its third straight loss to open the season.
KOGAS has been exceptionally strong against Samsung, winning five straight and 10 straight at home.
The two teams have been battling over Lee Dae-sung’s return to Korea after playing in Japan last season.
Lee, who played for KOGAS through the 2022-2023 season, spent the 2023-2024 season in Japan before returning to Samsung this year.
Samsung slipped to the bottom of the standings in 10th place after Lee tore knee ligaments before the start of the season and is doubtful to play this season.
Anyang Kwanjang earned its first win of the season with a 68-60 home-opening victory over Wonju DB.
The Chungkwanjang were led by a double-double from Cady Laren (15 points, 18 rebounds) and 10 points and eight rebounds from Lee Jong-hyun.
DB, the pre-season favorite, was held scoreless by last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Lee Sun Albano in 23 minutes and six seconds of action, while Lee Kwan-hee missed all seven of his three-point attempts to snap a three-game losing streak.
